Pan Am Games – July 10-16, 2015

Parapan Am Games – August 7-15, 2015

We can feel the excitement building as Canadians are getting in the spirit of the Pan Am Games, planning, preparing for and anticipating this huge event. Tickets are already on sale for the general public for the Pan Am Games, and tickets will be available for the Parapan Am games in the spring of 2015. This December, the torch bearer contest closes and the torchbearers will be selected for the special honour of being a part of the 41 day Torch Relay that will travel through more than 130 communities, in the hands of 3,000 torch bearers, over 5,000km of road and 15,000km in the air. This will be quite the event…and it is just the beginning.

The Pan Am Games, as the world’s third largest international multisport games, is held every four years. With 7,600 athletes from Across Latin America, South America, the Caribbean and North America coming to Canada to compete in 36 Pan Am sports and 15 Parapan Am sports, there are numerous events to see. Events will be held at more than 30 venues in 16 municipalities across southern Ontario in the ten new world class facilities that have been constructed for this event and the 15 others that have been substantially upgraded. Oakville is the perfect place to stay, with its close proximity to all the activities. The Lakeshore Train will take you directly to the CIBC Pan Am Park, which boasts six venues along the shores of Lake Ontario, including Ontario Place and Exhibition Place. Toronto is home to 12 other sports venues and the Hamilton and Niagara Falls Region is the destination of three more. Oakville’s region of Halton/Peel has four sports venues, including the Cisco Milton Velodrome, the Mississauga Sports centre, the Caledon Equestrian Park and the Pan Am Cross-Country Centre.
